The Best Venue in Amsterdam for a Corporate Evening or Business Event

When the setting has to reflect the occasion

A corporate evening is a statement. It says something about how a company sees its people, its clients and its partners. A generic venue, a loud bar with no reserved space, a room that does not match the level of the people in it. They register immediately.

SHU Amsterdam was built for evenings where the setting has to be right. Since opening at Handboogstraat 15 in June 2024, it has become the venue of choice for Amsterdam’s professional and international business community, precisely because it delivers what a corporate event actually needs: a room that impresses without trying too hard, service that is consistent throughout the evening, and a format that gives the night somewhere to go.

What SHU can offer a corporate group

A reserved VIP table: SHU has four VIP tables available for business bookings. Your group arrives to a confirmed, reserved space. No standing at the bar, no competing with other guests for seating, no logistical friction at the start of the evening. Contact @shu.amsterdam to arrange.

The right crowd: The 25+ door policy at SHU produces a room of professionals. The crowd skews 27–40, international, well-dressed and there for the same quality of evening. There is no age dynamic to manage, no tone mismatch. The room reflects the standard.

English throughout: All staff speak English fluently. The booking process, the door, the bar, and no language barrier at any point. SHU is designed for an international clientele and handles corporate guests from any country without friction.

A format that covers the full evening: From 22:00 to around 23:30, SHU operates as a sophisticated cocktail lounge, which is ideal for conversation. It offers he kind of relaxed energy that makes a corporate evening feel like a genuine occasion rather than an obligation. From 23:30, the music steps up and the dance floor becomes available. The evening has a second act built in.

Thursday: the corporate night

Among Amsterdam’s business community, Thursday has become the preferred night at SHU. The energy is real and enough that it feels like a proper evening out, but the crowd is slightly more contained than the weekend. For a post-dinner client event, a team celebration, or a mid-week occasion that should not require a full recovery day, Thursday is the answer.

Thursday at SHU is walk-in, no guest list required. For a group with a VIP table reservation, simply arrive, confirm the booking at the door and the evening begins without friction.

Weekends for larger or higher-energy events

On Fridays and Saturdays, SHU reaches its highest energy. The room is fuller, the music builds faster and the dance floor is in use from around 23:30.

Weekend entry requires a guest list arranged in advance via @shu.amsterdam on Instagram. Walk-in is possible until 23:00 if there is space; after that, guest list only.
